Take Science to New Heights! Design Rockets, Explore Black Holes…

Scheduled Aug 23, 2010 through Aug 24, 2010 RSVP Required by Aug 15, 2010

Due to the success of Mission: Space Camp 1 over the last seven years, I've created an all new class that takes science to the next level! During Space Camp 1, students assisted in the building and launching of multiple model rockets over 200 feet high, right in the HSB parking lot! How would your kids like to design and build their very own rockets, and launch them in a friendly competition? In Mission: Space Camp 2, your students will be in the "driver's seat" for two days of scientific discovery, exploration, and experimentation, and will go home excited about science! Here are just a few of the cool activities we will be exploring:

*Race the speed of light!
*Identify elements in stars by looking at different gases through a real Spectrograph
*Learn how the Doppler Effect is used to observe the Milky Way as it’s expanding at tremendous speeds
*Explore the reality of black holes, and the principles behind worm holes, parallel universes, and time travel
*Design, Build, and Launch rockets while exploring Newton’s three laws of motion
*Play the original Mission: Space Olympics while discovering the very real challenges of working in space

- Mission: Space Camp 2 will blast off at the HSB on Monday August 23rd from 9 am to noon, and resumes on Tuesday August 24th from 9 am to noon.
- Designed for 5th-9th graders
- Tuition: $45.00 (all materials included)
- Pre-register by August 3rd and save $5.00/seat!!
- Discounts given for multiple students from same family
- Registration closes on August 15th, or when the class is filled
